The Project

I went on retreat last week. As is often the case, some exciting stuff happened in the complete and utter silence. One of those things was something I can't describe adequately. It was like all these different lines of thought that had been going on for some time came together into a beautiful whole. Ideas I had been toying with since high school, and perhaps even before, all coalesced into one uber-idea. Here's the basics:

The Project: build a space for authentic Catholic culture to grow so that Christ may reach the whole world.

Who: Catholics primarily, but all are welcome.
  • This is a Catholic initiative, but indeed the model seemingly could be used by any group or organization (though longevity would be an issue without being based in Christ).
What: Church. Library. University. Government.
  • The Church is already present. Library is first thing to be built, then University, then Government.
When: Now.
  • There is no time like the present.
Where: The Internet. The World.
  • Start on the Internet, but will need a base of operations at some point.
Why: Evangelization. To make effective use of strong culture as a means of propogating the Gospel. For God and Humanity.
  • Culture is the most basic element in a person's life, need to be reached at this level in order to preach the Gospel. Strong culture, as evidenced by the spread of US culture, effectively spreads ideas and values. This is the goal and desire.

It's difficult to go into specifics, as there are so many. It's difficult to summarize something so complex.
