Went to a Requiem mass last evening at St. John Cantius. It was the most moving experience I’ve had in some time. There we were 1,000 strong, mourning our beloved dead, and praying for them. It was also good to be home, it has been too long.
If you have a few minutes today, listen to Barber’s Adagio for Strings, which was the recessional piece at the mass. As we processed out many were in tears; there is a wonderful power in music that awakens the soul to what it has forgotten, and what it has pushed aside.
There is more I would say, but perhaps those words are best kept between myself and the Father.
God bless.
