So there’s this movie coming out called ‘God’s Not Dead.’ As soon as I saw a little snippet of it I thought “oh no.”
Here’s a little piece of the synopsis: “Josh Wheaton finds his faith challenged on his first day of Philosophy class by the dogmatic and argumentative Professor Radisson. Radisson begins class by informing students that they will need to disavow, in writing, the existence of God on that first day, or face a failing grade. ...”
My suspension of disbelief is immediately shattered upon reading the second sentence. I deeply desire a movie or story about an actual discussion between an atheist and a theist, but this isn’t it. This is setting up David against Goliath, but Goliath wins, because David is made of straw.
